I knew it was coming since day one. I met him at the batting cages and knew what I was getting into, or so I thought. I had friends who had dated service members. I had family members who were married to them. My own grandfather was in the Navy and went to San Diego every summer while my mom, her siblings, and my grandmother stayed behind in Kansas. I wish my grandfather was still around. It would have given me a better perspective on what I was getting myself into. But I decided it was worth a shot.
And I’ve never looked back since.
I love my sailor. He is strong. He is hard-working. He never backs down from a challenge. But he is also kind. He is caring. He loves his family and mine. He loves God. And he loves me. The past few years with him have been some of the most difficult and trying times in my life–but they’ve also been the most thrilling and fun ones too! Despite the battles both B and I face every day, I am living my DREAM LIFE! And it just keeps getting better and better. 🙂
I love connecting with people from different walks of life: whether you know someone in the armed forces, are married to one, or are one yourself….if you are fresh out of high school, or retired with grand babies. I hope you find community and encouragement here. I want this to be a place where everyone can feel free to share our stories, advice, and experiences with each other in a positive environment (while still recognizing that everyone has struggles and issues we are facing). So grab a nice cup of coffee, pull up a seat, and share YOUR story!
